Mark Twain’s Autobiography- 100 Years Later

An autobiography on Mark Twain is coming our way. Considering he’s been dead for more than a century, it sounds strange to hear that it’s an autobiography, but according to the author’s explicit request, it was meant to be that way. He wanted us, or them, or the great grandchildren of his enemies/lovers/friends to wait.

But it’s coming soon! Read the article at The Independent.

It is fascinating, just the thinking behind waiting 100 years, how it may change how we think of him, how we will think it would have changed our view of him and American literature if it was published 100 years ago. It will be fodder for lots and lots of discussion.

  4. Kim, agreed. It’ll be interesting to see how classroom studies are affected.
